If you have instant-messaging accounts on multiple platforms, it can be a real pain to use several IM clients simultaneously. Some applications, such as the excellent (and free) Trillian, let you combine your accounts under one interface. Trillian doesn’t contain all the latest whiz-bang features such as video streaming, but for day-to-day IM use, it does the job just fine. In a similar vein, Agile Messenger lets you send and receive instant messages from AIM, MSN, Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ, and Google Talk in a tabbed interface—one tab per conversation—all from your smartphone or feature phone.
