Vista backdoor rumours shut down

Windows Vista won’t have a backdoor that could be used by police forces to get into encrypted files, Microsoft has stressed.

In February, a BBC News story suggested that the government was in discussions with Microsoft over backdoor access to the operating system.

But Microsoft has now quelled the suggestion that law enforcement might get such access.

“Microsoft has not and will not put ‘backdoors’ into Windows,” the company said. (more…)

I. What Is A Proxy Server?
A proxy server is an interface between your browser and the destination server. The proxy server will take your page request and handles for your browser the connection to the destination. These proxy servers are also able to cache pages. If such a proxy is configured to cache it will at first take look to its local cache if the requested page already exist.
